Lovu Seaside, is a very poor, little-known community of squatter housing on the outskirts of Lautoka, Fiji.
Since 2009 C3 Church Lautoka in partnership with Tearfund NZ, have established an ongoing aid and development work to improve the living conditions of squatters in Lovu who experience severe flooding events, inadequate housing, poor water supply and sanitation on marginal private land.
I became involved in an outreach to aid the people of Lovu in 2015. My heart was to use my skills in photography and video to increase the awareness of the plight of these desperate people and to raise funds and support. Video and photography is a powerful medium for telling stories that confront the heart and stir the viewer to respond. This year I returned and shot and produced a video which has been successful in raising tens of thousands of support dollars. https://vimeo.com/289003090
